For this project, the author's first book, intertwining.org provided author consulting focused on bibliographic, research, and intellectual property. This was a four month project for us, which started after the author's research and first draft were complete. Our work included reading and commenting on the first draft, contributions on matters of science and research, acquiring bibliographic authority or conducting bibliographic research, and construction of the finished bibliography. We also consulted with the author on issues of style, intellectual property, and process.

Project Cost: $5,000.

Insights from an Out-of-Sight Guy
Larry C. Colbert

Humorous stories about coping with change and managing the ideas, emotions, and attitudes that affect us all.
ISBN 097663290X
Trade Paperback, Published March 2005

intertwining.org worked with the author from the moment of this book's conception to finished products, including intense collaboration during writing and editing of the manuscript. We processed the manuscript to the "printer-ready," stage, including pagination, indexing, creation of front matter, etc; we designed the original cover and art; and created marketing materials. (Note: shown left is 2nd or subsequent cover.) We arranged for copyright, ISBN and LC numbers, and handled all details regarding printing and distribution. We contributed services during development of the book's national marketing campaign, which included positioning the book in the major online book seller's databases, making it "acquirable" by public libraries and in bulk, and configuring a full featured amazon.com catalog entry, including "search inside this book" function. We also created a fully online downloadable (pdf) accessible ebook version, and advised in the project's next phase: a CD-based audio book, which is now available.

Time from inception to completion of the project: 12 months.
Project Cost: $10,000.

in a related, but separate, probono project, intertwining.org also developed the author's web domain and first generation website, the content from which comprises the author's current website http://drivingvision.com

This project included involvement in the development and evolution of the web's first standards for accessible design (for the visually impaired.)

Academic Publishing

Nitecki Trilogy
on Philosophy of Library Information Science
by J.Z. Nitecki

For this project, intertwining.org became publisher of the first full free hypertext book on the web (1995.)

The project included working extensively with the manuscript; designing the platform for housing the first 'entirely online" book collection for a major university library; submitting the first "entirely online book" cataloging record for U.S. Library of Congress; and working with scholars in Brazil, Cuba, and Poland on translations. For this project we were also involved in the development and evolution of book publishing standards and economic models for book publishing online.
